LWD PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

ABOUT ME
I am a licensed clinical psychologist serving adults in Oregon and Washington via telehealth. Some assessments are conducted in-person.

My priorities include acknowledging and addressing contributors to mental health disparities
and pursuing equity in mental health care access and treatment outcomes.

I maintain a high regard for personal privacy. I have worked extensively with people of prominence as well as socially vulnerable folks, all of whom share a deep desire for a confidential space as they engage in mental health care.

My work is informed by specific training and experience working with health care professionals, attorneys, immigrants, neurodiverse and LGBT / TNB folks.

My private practice is centered on individual therapy tailored to each person's needs and preferences.
I provide specialized psychological evaluations related to social security disability applications, and psychological evaluations for immigration related legal purposes (Extreme Hardship, VAWA, Political Asylum).

I also provide psychological evaluations for college students experiencing mental health symptoms that interfere in their academic performance. When appropriate, I complete medical verification forms to document mental health issues and their impact. Such documentation may support international students’ petitions to temporarily reduce their academic enrollment or credit requirements while maintaining access to a student visa. For domestic students such documentation may support other academic petitions.

EXPERIENCE
As a licensed psychologist I have worked in community mental health, residential addiction and trauma treatment, higher education / university counseling, non-profit organizations, and private practice.

I partner with local agencies to provide services for diverse and underserved populations, reducing economic and systemic barriers might otherwise preclude access.
Therapy: Individual therapy for people experiencing a range of symptoms and concerns including intense stress, major life transitions, loss, complex trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, gender identity / women's / femme issues, relational stressors, academic problems, and executive functioning concerns. My approach is CBT-based, including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have typically worked within a brief therapy framework with a focus on creating practical change that is personally meaningful to each client.

Assessment: My doctoral specializations include psychological assessments and reports for use in disability determination cases, psycho-educational evaluations used to assess eligibility for formal academic accommodations, tailored evaluations for individuals considering bariatric surgery, neuro-cognitive evaluations for folks in addiction recovery, and psychological evaluations for people in the context of legal immigration processes.
Supervision / Training / Education: Learning is life-long. I have participated in consultation, supervision, and training for doctoral students and colleagues as a means of challenging and supporting one another in our professional development. I have formally trained and supervised doctoral students and post-doctoral residents in specialized psychological assessment, and offer professional consultation to established clinicians expanding their assessment expertise. I taught graduate psychology courses in psychometrics, statistics, and research design.
